Ernie LaPointe is the only living lineal great grandson of the great Lakota spiritual leader, Sitting Bull. Born on the Pine Ridge Reservation, he grew up speaking Lakota with both his parents having passed on by the time he was 17 years old. He joined the army at 18. He served in Vietnam and came home with a severe case of PTSD.
After a 17 year bout with alcoholism and another three years with heavy marijuana use, Ernie decided to come back to his Lakota ways and spirituality. In the process he became Sitting Bull's Voice.
